Drow Elvirim
Drow Elvirim are a subspecies of Elvirim, but are quite different in physiology, culture, and psychology from typical Elvirim.
Drow Elvirim have skin ranging in color from deep midnight blue or dark brown to almost fully black, but have blue-white to white, straight, coarse, and thick hair. They are also generally even slighter than most Elvirim. A typical male Drow is about 5'5" (165 cm) tall and weighs about 115 lbs. (52 kg). The eyes of Drow are pale blue or green, large, with large pupils. They are very sensitive to light, and Drow are able to see in infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths invisible to humans and even to other Elvirim. Because their eyes are so sensitive, they rarely venture out during daylight hours. When for some reason they must come out of their underground homes to the surface, they prefer the late evening or deep night hours.
Where most Elvirim are highly empathic and abhor violence, Drow are aggressive, usually xenophobic, suspicious, and hostile. They do not have the connection to nature that most Elvirim have, and prefer to live underground in enclaves and even cities that they carve out of caves, usually by employing Orkrim, Dwarvirim, or Koboldrim slave labor. This puts them in direct conflict with Orkrim and Dwarvirim. Some Dwarvirim tribes have allied themselves with Drow, and some Human people work and trade with Drow.
The largest Drow city is the great underground city of Isolabirre in Yfel. It is the seat of administration of Yfel. No one enters Isola, the citadel of Edan, without passing through Isolabirre; though it must be said that few have any desire to enter Isola at all.
