#04: Ill-Fortune Favours the Bold

General Summary

The Heroes left the cemetery of the Chapel of St. Indirov, having spent the night in vigil and santuary for Ireena Kolyanovich's safety. During their reprieve, the Heroes identified several of their magical items. Father Grigori Donavich asked for a return of Valentina Dilisnya in approximately a week's time to "cure" Doru Donavich, though she replied that she had to finish her pilgrimmage — the Pilgrim's Way — first, and did not know when that would bring her back.   The Heroes visited Bildrath's Mercantile where they met Bildrath Cantemir and Parpol Cantemir. Übel Bachmann purchased a Buckler, whilst Soryn d'Nemishcata stole some alchemical ingredients. Mina Barovonna got some advice from the merchant, and learned that Kalus Bachmann is supposedly in Krezk having arrived some time ago, and looking to aggitate against Strahd von Zarovich.   Ismark Kolyanovich bid the Heroes and Ireena farewell, and they were joined by Morgantha Ghita on the Old Svalich Road. The companions shared much as they travelled, and suspicions against "Granny" grew until they parted ways at the Gallowstree. Morgantha mentioned that her siser Bella Ghita was the lover of Isnaf Mathais Shashlovich, the nominal "head" of the Harvest Society. Ireena's abilities and preconceptions were then tested by the Heroes, and she began to question her sheltered upbringing and circumstances much more.   After travelling north for the rest of the day, the Heroes reached the Tser Pools, where they met the Vistani camping there. They were welcomed in with great hospitality, and got to know Alexei d'Lira before being called into Madam Eva's wagon. There, the Madam gave the Heroes a Tarokka reading, the Fortunes of Ravenloft, and they asked many questions about their lot.    The Heroes also learned from Madam Eva of the Ghita Coven, being comprised of Morgantha and her sisters, which controls Old Bonegrinder in Solec, the next settlement they're to reach on their journey.
