Mathais Shashlovich was Barovian Human Farmer, and the former Isnaf of Solec. He lived in Shashlovich House. He was the de facto face of the Harvest Society. Mathais was the father of Diavola Shashlovich, and the known consort of Bella Ghita.
Mathais attempted to burn down the Lacusta House, and murder the Heroes, to get to Ireena Kolyanovich, on the evening of the 2nd of Second Moon, 735 ME. This effort appeared to be linked to the Harvest Society's plans to whip up anti-magical / Golden Gourd sentiment.
Mathais was murdered by Volenta Popofsky who then stole his face with the Death Mask, early in the morning on the 3rd of Second Moon, 735 ME.
