Golden Gourds

The Golden Gourds are a set of four magical artifacts, each resembling a pumpkin that shines with an incredible radience from within, as if the Sun itself were captured inside it. The outside of each of the Gourds appears to be very slowly rotting, and cracks have formed along their surfaces resembling wicked grinning faces. Regardless of their less-than-welcoming appearence, these Gourds are vital to the lives of most Barovians, as they are used among the agricultural communities of Barovia in lieu of good weather (which is, essentially, unheard of within the Mist). Due to this central importance, they are often mimicked via jack o' lanterns in thanks.
The origins of the Gourds remain a mystery, but most accept the common notion that they were gifted to the Barovians by Strahd von Zarovich several hundred years ago. It is also suspected that there may have originally been more than four such Gourds, though enterprising treasure hunters, seeking to find such lost Gourds, have always turned up empty.
The four Golden Gourds are held by Barovia, Immol, Proske, and Vallaki (though this one has been stolen, and its whereabouts remain unknown).
