Isnaf
An Isnaf is a non-elected, only semi-official title, akin to a "First Amongst Equals," typically used to denote the most respected or prosperous individual in a community. An Isnaf need not be a Boyar, though often they are or have been historically. Isnafs do not hold any official power over their communities, but are given de facto leadership by recognition of their prestige by their peers. Typically this presents as them being mediators or giving counsel to their peers in times of dispute, and acting as the chief hosts of visiting dignitaries.
Within the County of Barovia, the communities of Immol and Solec both have Isnafs; Davian Martikov and Mathais Shashlovich (though the latter of which has since been murdered and not yet replaced), respectively.
