Krezk
Krezk is a village on the north-western edge of Barovia, and is the main settlement of the region of Wolfrun. The current Burgomeister of Krezk is Dmitri Krezkov.
Name Origins
The name Krezk is a Barovslovy corruption of the Kaltsprache word krause 'frill, ruff,' which was an popular fashion at the time of its founding. The village — primarily built from the raw white timbers of the region — was arrayed in a semi-circle around the base of Mount Venit where the Abbey of St. Markovia is built. Thus, the people it looked like the Abbey was wearing the village as a ruff, a krause. House Krezkov were so named as their founder — Ambros Krezkov — was elevated from their early settlers in recognition of his military achievements in "pacifying" the local Zori.Points of interest
