Motivation
Though Übel dutifully follows in the family business, she is committed to living her own life as well. Übel has a nihilistic view of life, with traits of hedonism and pleasure seeking. She loves to drink and dance and live as though she were to die at any moment. Übel doesn't care about the legend or vendetta that her ancestor swore with her dying breath. However, they do care about glory and notoriety, and perhaps gold that may come with killing a legendary figure such as Strahd von Zarovich. The possibility of such a score is enough to entice her, should the opportunity arise.

As one of the Heroes, Übel is allies with Mina Barovonna, Soryn d'Nemishcata, and Valentina Dilisnya. Übel and Soryn have been friends longer than the party has existed, having formed a bond several years prior.
Family Ties
Übel is a descendant of the infamous Bachmann Clan, a gang of cutthroats and hired killers beyond the Mists, whose calling card is a raven's feather. Though not originally of the Blood of Barovia, the Clan became cursed when an ancestor — Kira Bachmann, a notorious killer even among her own people — was Taken into the County of Barovia in 627 ME during the Third Mistfall. Kira emerged from the Mists pregnant and badly injured, and managed to tell her folk to "Kill that fucker Strahd, for the injustice and curse he has brought upon me and those who will follow after."
Since, the Bachmann's — most notably Kalus Bachmann in recent years — have trained in the hopes of one day slaying Strahd von Zarovich, though none yet have been Taken into the Mists like Kira was, and the belief that she was perhaps mad has begun to circulate. Übel doesn't believe the family legacy — agreeing with many of her kinfolk that it's merely a tale to increase their mystique and prestige in the criminal underworld.
