The
Attack on the FCBC was a coordinated assault by army and air force units of the
Imperial Army of Jerace, the
Imperial Air Force of Jerace, and the
Apalachian Royal Expeditionary Force on
Federation Central Base Command, the primary headquarters of the
Federation Armed Forces during the
Battle for Anfieden. Despite the fierce efforts of the Jeraci and Apalachian forces, the Federation was successful in defending their base, winning a costly but vital victory.
By 4034 the
3rd Empire of Jerace had begun the
Invasion of Iomhare, and the
Federation Navy in
Iomhare was slowly being pushed back. Under the newfound command of
Elaine J. Kyra recently promoted to
Fleet Admiral, and with the authority of the
Minister of the Armed Forces Hugo Venwolf, the Federation Armed Forces prepared a two-pronged trap, luring Jerace's forces into both
Envis and
Anfieden simultaneously. The Attack on the FCBC would be an important engagement of the larger Battle for Anfieden, as Jerace sought to eliminate the Federation's central command structure by targeting its head.
The battle itself was fought primarily between the 73rd Division of the 2nd Southern Anfedaien Field Army, and the 4th Combined Army of the Imperial Army of Jerace. At least four Jeraci and one Apalachian Air Force Squadrons also participated in the attack, in opposition the
Federation Air Force deployed two of their own squadrons, which were able to shield the Federation's ground troops for the majority of the engagement. A number of
Governmental Arm of Intelligence agents also assisted in the defence of the building proper. The 4th Combined Army would attempt to breach the main courtyard several times across 4034, eventually forcing Federation forces into the extensive underground complex underneath the main FCBC building. Eventually, after several fierce months of fighting, Jeraci forces gave up on their assault after limited success.
This battle, and many others like it, would eventually lead to a complete Federation victory across Anfieden, and with similar success at the
Battle of Envis, the Jeraci Invasion of Iomhare ended in complete failure. A huge counterattack would lead to a
Pact of Anfieden victory in the
2nd Galactical War.
