Clan Maan

Sigil: A Windmill
Colors: Red and Gold
Current Patriarch: Lord Eigias
Domain: Miller's Range
Seat: Millstone, at Mill at the Bend   Vassal of Clan Beth at Revelback   The Maans claim to have served the Beths since ancient times. They are a populous family, controlling many wheat fields and, most famously, Mill at the Bend, north of Revelback. The Maans are not particularly distinguished, but they did produce the Breyv Sir Madrick Maan, one of The Three Breyvs who suffered misfortune at Castle Malbrand during the rule of King Collium the Constant. Sir Madrick's great nephew, Sir Medrik Maan, would be one of the Four Companions to Dorreon II.   One famous Maan of myth was Maorsh the Bloody Baker, who captured his mortal enemy and fed his entire family to him before finally executing him.

History

The Maans claim to have stood guard when King Baarach, the ancient King of Beth, wed his Revali queen. Their lands were vital to the support of the surrounding areas before Revellia became the Pig Lands. The Maans are a proud but boisterous folk, and though few of their number have stood out, any Maan can list several distinguished ancestors, whether requested or not.   Notable Maans of ancientry include Maz Millstones, who supposedly slew giants in the Aercuadh; Ismelda of Sunflower, who claimed to speak directly with the Hosts; and Toma Yellowhair, who is credited with building the Castle of Millstone.
