Novius

Nestled in the northwest, Novius spans more vertically than horizontal. Due to the "tall" nature of the region it is exposed to a dazzling array of climates, from the sub-zero temps atop the Grin-Felk Mountain Range to the suffocatingly thick humid environment of the The Black Marsh. The region used to be referred to as 3 independent segments, but due to the unparalleled exploratory work and mapping of Novellus De'Run they were united together and named Novius after the explorer in one of the greatest recorded honors.

Geography

The northern part of Novius is dominated by mountains, most notable the Grin-Felk mountain range. A series of mountains that take on a circular shape with mountains inside the middle. These mountains are referred to as cloud scrapers as their peaks slice through the clouds and remain unseen. There are other smaller sets of mountain ranges within the north but none are as notable as the Grin-Felk mountains. The southern area of Novius is mainly taken up by The Black Marsh, a massive expanse of thick murky water, and massive fungus infested trees and plots of land.

Fauna & Flora

Not much is known about the creatures that call the mountains their home. Most people prefer to steer clear of the mountains as there are rumors of truly terrible creatures calling them home. More is known about The Black Marsh though as many expeditions have been sent into the thick foggy depths of the marsh. The fauna consists of reptilian creatures that are capable of treading on both land and water. There have also been consistent sightings of Kobolds within the marsh making most believe the there are tribes of Kobolds that call the marsh home. Fighting with these Kobolds are a sub-species of humans that live and have adapted to The Black Marshes qualities. These people are known as Bogdon

Natural Resources

Novius is a region that isn't too abundant with resources, due to the citizens staying away from the mountains and how dangerous the Marsh is there isn't a whole lot of easily harvestable resources available to the citizens of Novius. What is in abundance in Novius however is reptile meat. As it is very common for entire meals to consist of reptile. Another resource that is available are the thousands of various fungi that thrive in the marshes ecosystem. Many of these fungi can contain some form of healing property or in more devious circumstances have poisonous effects as well. There are rumors that there are various fungi deep within the marsh that contain magical essence and properties. These fungi have been known to fetch extremely high prices.
