Geography

The planet of Vellikka is made up of mostly water. There is one major landmass where the Vellich live, which is also called Vellikka.    The continent has several major mountain ranges with a large number of rivers coming from each. The largest mountain ranges include the Milam Mountains in the centre, the Akire Mountains in the north and the Lanips Mountains in the north east.    On the south east side of the continent is Laykan Bay. home of The Sweet Vale Winds and The Rising Tide.

Localized Phenomena

There are several natural phenomena in Vellikka, including destructive natural occurrences like The Rising Tide, to the more passive and beautiful like The Sweet Vale Winds.

Climate

The continent is close to the equator so there isn't a large difference in climate from the north to the south. It is mostly warm and pleasant, with wet seasons and dry seasons.   The wet season lasts for half the year, with the dry season lasting the other half.

Fauna & Flora

Most of the wildlife live in the oceans. There are even some sentient creatures living in the depths.    On land, the main civilisation is the Vellich. There are some creatures which are considered predators of the Vellich, but most are lower on the food chain.

History

When the planet began it was only water. Seismic and volcanic activity from below the world's crust caused a single landmass to form.   At some point during its history, before the Vellich were sentient creatures living above the water rather than below, the planet was briefly settled by another alien race (the Jakunguh) who wanted to turn it into a luxury resort because of the temperate weather and beautiful scenery, but it was too far off the beaten track to attract the types of visitors they wanted, and their business folded. They abandoned the venture, leaving behind the buildings they created. Several thousand years later, the remains of these buildings and their technology remain.

Tourism

As it is off the major interplanetary trade routes and paths, tourism here is not a thing. Yet.
