Master of the Watch Eldrin Sarsatra (a.k.a. Ellie)
A retired dune elf adventurer, sorceror of great renown and last surviving member of the Better Days Gang, Eldrin Sarsatra is a reclusive celebrity who spends the remainder of his days in solitude travelling expansive deserts of Geganna. In his active years, he was a key member in the great adventuring guild - the Better Days Gang - supporting them with arcane talent, wide reaching knowledge and surprising physical ferocity.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Middle-aged by elf standards, Eldrin is still in peak physical condition. His wiry frame belies his strength and his arcane ability is matched by his dexterity and fortitude. Decades of solitary wandering have stripped any remaining softness from his frame left over from his younger years.
Special abilities
Eldrin is an accomplished sorcerer of the storm, drawing his power from tempests, gales and thunder itself. When younger, this was a point of shame for him due to his inability to study magic in an academic fashion. In addition, Eldrin has a secret known only to his hometown and the Better Days Gang - he has been cursed with lycanthropy from birth. During times of dire need, he may take on the form of a weretiger. He is not proud of this ability but over the course of his life has come to terms with it.
Apparel & Accessories
Eldrin keeps himself immaculately dressed, even while travelling Geganna as a nomad. He usually wears a light, silk schenti and tunic with a small, leather wastecoat on top. A sand-coloured, hooded cloak completes his outfit and ensures he looks unassuming. A keen eye may spot a couple of valuable pieces of jewelry hidden out of sight while a knowledgable arcanist will recognise a set of bracers of defense on his forearms.
Specialized Equipment
Eldrin has a prized shortbow, Zephyr, he uses with great skill when magic is not necessary. It is well known that he can shoot an arrow as far as a well trained longbowman with this bow, the impact striking with the force and energy of a thunderbolt. In addition, Eldrin has a wand crafted from fulgurite he has carried from the first day he manifested magic. Any other equipment is less confidently understood by the general population.

Personal history
Eldrin was born in the year 339AA in a small Dune Elf settlement in the hills to the south of The Expanse. His upbringing was difficult due to the lycanthropic curse affecting his family. His schooling was unremarkable; he took to weapons with average elven skill but was poorly suited in the ways of magic. After a surprisingly brutal attack by gnolls took the lives of several members of the settlement, including his mother, Eldrin fled into the wastes alone. It was here that he finally manifested the abilities he had so dearly sought, his natural talent flaring into life during a vicious sandstorm.
Eldrin fell in with a group of bandits who were glad to put both his arcane power and his lycanthropy to good use. He remained a vagrant criminal for decades, growing in power but also regrets. Finally, an act of true viciousness by the leader of the camp led Eldrin to betray his companions, side with an opposing adventuring party and escape with them in what would be the first step in seeking redemption for his years of crime.
This adventuring group grew into the Better Days Gang, one of the most renowned group of heroes in the Riven Lands. Eldrin swiftly became a key member of the team while slowly coming to terms with his curse and prior actions. This was aided by the neverending empathy of Sasha Dram, a human paladin who slowly turned into a golden Dragonborn during their years together.
The destruction of the Better Days Gang robbed Eldrin of his desire to adventure or work in a team. He retreated to his homelands, frustrated to find that his home village no longer existed, and became a nomad in the wastes. He remains there to this day, cropping up from time to time opposing small-time bandit lords, other criminals and bands of gnolls.

Motivation
Eldrin wants for little now that he has finished his adventuring days. The dissolution of the Better Days Gang and the death of two of its members shook him for years and left him without a purpose.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Having grown up in the small Dune Elf settlements that dot Geganna, Eldrin is a better huntsman and tracker than many would expect a spellcaster to be. He takes pride in being able to achieve his goals without resorting to using magic abilities. In contrast, even though he has great affinity with the winds and weather, he is hopeless on a boat or ship - much to the chagrin of those who would value his abilities. He also cannot swim.
