The Manoran coast is a tropical and Mediterranean coastline ranging from the southern half of the serpent's pass down to the Halavan’s (a mountain range on the southern portion of Kare'gora) Its mountainous land has made it untouched for centuries by war or foreign colonization. Only two known passes let people through the hostile terrain of the mountains, Death valley, and The Mano Gate. these valley passes are both dangerous, but the Mano Gate is well guarded and has access to supplies if need be. Death valley is a place you really don’t want to be. Giants, wyverns, and many other mountain dwelling species live there, and they guard their territory feverishly. Once past the mountains however the the land changes drastically. Jungles covering most of the southern half of the coast, hotter and more humid grasslands further north. The Coast is a heaven for many creatures, the fruit is exotic and nourishing, the biodiversity is off the charts, and Sentient species for the most part haven't over populated the area, however that is rapidly changing. The Manoran coast is a central part of the trading networks within the western lands, and with their loose laws on goods and services, many people have picked up and moved to the coast. Manora specifically has grown at such a fast rate recently that its local businesses are having trouble keeping up with demands.
The western side Is a long coastline with many cliffs and beaches, most beaches have ether white or black sand. This is due to volcanic activity all along the Coast and in the mountains to the east. In the south east is a grouping of mountains called the Halavans, and in the northeast is the mountain range called the Nions. the further east you go the dryer it gets. There are even rumors of a dessert hidden in the Nions. Flowing from the mountains back down to the coast line are hundreds of creeks, streams, and rivers flowing to make bigger rivers and lakes that all eventually lead back to the sea. Some of those rivers flow through the many jungles on the coast such as The Teravon in the south, and the Nawin in the north.
Notable Locations / climates
- The Halavans (Mountain range)
- The Nions (Mountain range)
Due to the drastic changes in climate all over the coast plant life is one of the most diverse on Tor. In the northeast at the base of the Nions is a massive jungle like swamp that covers most of that section of the coast. Some notable plants in that area includes long grasses, thick jungle trees, and carnivorous plants. Some notable animals in the area are frogs, snakes, alligators (crocodiles do not live here), shrimp, crayfish, dear, and bears.
Further north around Shadar is a grassland with spots of forest and jungle. The heat and humidity combined with the many creeks flowing in the area make it an ideal location for long grass to grow rampant.
