Pino Settlement in Tor | World Anvil

Pino

Keeping to the road a small clearing begins to form from the blanket of Jungle revealing the quaint and rickety village of wood and stone known as Pino. Most of the buildings have their small stone basses completely taken over by moss and lichens native to the Pinchot Rain Forest and visible rot has taken hold on several wooden structures. The close cluster of these buildings creates a very small and claustrophobic road network weaving through the few buildings of this village and a small rotting wall of wood surrounds the town for safety, or at least it used to. The years have not been kind to this structure, and the lack of upkeep on it has made the protective wall almost pointless. As you walk through town the low population of Pino makes itself very clear, most people roaming around the town are either from out of town, or from the Metal Guard.

Government

Pino is run as a trading outpost along the main road to Bendora, the Metal Guard run the town and elect mayors when ever the position is open, and a viable candidate is introduced, or sent from Draken (this is very uncommon however due to Pino being seen as such an unimportant part of the empire.). The towns local government follows any laws from The Gilded Crown due to being directly ruled by them, however the mayor may also make local laws when needed.
