Pinchot Rain Forest

"I hate the jungle" Azur whispered under his breath. He began to peal the large spider web from his face and quickly flung the spider dangling on it from his hand. Azr's vision focused back to the group of supporters and natives guiding the group through the lush jungle, noting the vast amount of insects and birds flying about. Most of which he was familiar, but he was surprised to find a fair amount of species he had never seen or heard of before. While watching his surroundings he continued walking and bumped into the back of Ravo, one of the new recruits he'd taken a shinning to. Ravo looked back caught off guard and confused, "M-m'lord, terribly sorry" he said in a hushed tone of embarrassment. Azr's armor clattered loudly as he awkwardly regained his footing, looking down at Ravo he leaned over and spoke sternly "Stop calling me M'lord, and there is no reason for you to be sorry. I need to be more alert.", Ravo looked back up from the ground to meet Azr's gaze, "s-sorr-... uh yes sir" Azr let out a sigh and looked ahead of the group. "have we arrived yet?" "I don't believe so M'lo, uh I mean sir. The tribes'men stopped the group, it looks like Cumulo and The High Preist are speaking with them" Ravo finished. After about 3 minutes of waiting, Azr's patience dwindled as he growled under his breath and stomped over to the front of the group. "What is taking so long, have we arrived at the Grotto yet?" "Not yet brother. Its a bit farther south from here, but look at this view Azr, its utterly stunning." Azr looked past Cummulo and the Priest to see they where at the edge of a massive crater like depression in the ground. The depression stretched on farther than his vision would allow, and at the apparent center of the crater rested a lake bigger than any he had ever seen before. The jungle continued down into the depression allowing the group to see nothing but the canopy of trees, and the massive lake at the center. Waterfalls dotted the almost cliff like walls of the canyon which collected into rivers leading to the huge body of water at the center. Azr looked for any change in the canopy, taking in every detail he could and spoke "so, where is the Grotto in this thing?" Cummulo shot him an aggravated glare and sighed. He pointed near the lake, "Near there, *sigh* you wouldn't know beauty if it hit you with a club, would you." "hey! I'm here for you brother, not to sight see. Plus... I hate the jungle... its awful." Cummulo sighed, "I know brother."   The Pinchot jungle is a massive rain forest on the Goran subcontinent, and is one of the most diverse and strange places in terms of plants, animals, and monsters on all of Tor. The over all terrain is a lush rain forest or jungle covering steep hills, however in the center of the northern jungle their is a massive crater or canyon that has filled itself with lush jungle and a massive lake known as the Lake Pinchot. The local tribes discovered within the last 5 years refers to the lake as Maku'noau and say it is very sacred for most tribes in the area. Two main rivers flow into the depression, the Vesper River, and the Komiki River. The rivers and streams that flow into the depression almost all enter as waterfalls, this has made several locations steeper drops, or in rare cases flattened the terrain just enough to make it safe to climb down/ up unassisted. These water falls recollect into rivers and feed into the Pinchot Lake, however over hundreds of years the water level rose to the point where an outlet river now flows from the lake to the western side of the Serpents Pass (Sea).

Geography

The Pinchot Rain Forest is a collection of hills that slowly rise in elevation as they get closer to the center of the peninsula, however an unnaturally formed canyon or crater is in the center of said hills drastically lowering the elevation in a large radius. These hills and the depression are almost completely covered in lush jungle life, and that of tropical animals. At the center of the crater rests a massive lake that the local villages and tribes worship, this lake is fed by many creeks and rivers flowing from heavy rain or mountain run off. On the eastern side of the rain forest the jungle brushes right up againts the sea in many areas, however on the western side the forest doesn't grow as easily. Four mountains are within the rain forest, however one is a volcano, and the other three might be as well, this is thought of due to the lack of a real mountain range for the mountains to be part of. These mountains include Mt. Vesk, Mt. Benari, Mt. To, and Komiki mountain.
