Lake Pinchot (Maku'noau)

Lake Pinchot, or Maku'noau as locals and tribesman call it, is a massive lake at the center of the Pinchot Crater that stems from several waterfalls along the craters cliff walls. Most of these waterfalls are small and from rain, or ground water, however, two major rivers cascade down the cliff side like rumbling thunder. These two rivers are the Vesper River to the northeast, and the Komiki River to the southeast. These rivers collect into the lake on the eastern side of the lake, and the Pinchot River outputs water to the ocean from the western side of the lake. Locals believe these waters to be sacred to Coax, and Veazu. Most think of this as a site of the cataclysmic battle between Relac, Coax, and Veazu, where Veazu was struck with a mortal blow, and Coax swore revenge for his brothers life. Legend has it that the lake was created by coax during this battle as either an attack on Relac, or as a monument to his brothers life, the details have been lost over time. Maku'noau is a central hub of fishing and water for many tribes in the area, as well as a place of meeting between the various Jungle tribes, and The Gilded Crown. These groups all meet and inter mingle in the trading and fishing town of Wako, where trade and information pass between the wide array of groups for various goods or services. This is largely due to Wako resting right on the Lakes edge, and it being run for the most part by locals, even if it is technically owned by The Gilded Crown. From this point along the Lakes shore, you can see the crater walls to the north, east and south,. However due to the lower elevation, and distance of the western side, the crater walls cant be seen this far away.
Through small cracks in the tree line, you see 20 to 30 small orange glows illuminate the slightly distant lake you spotted from afar earlier in the day. As you approach the murky, tea colored water of Maku'noau from the tree line, you see tons of long canoe like boats in a large variety of colors dot the water, several Black Dragonborn slowly creep into the water to begin fishing for the night, while others stay on the boat with nets at the ready. Looking to the east, or your left, you see a small collection of buildings of strange and colorful design. Each building appears to either have boats similar to those on the lake, attached to their buildings in some way shape or form, or were once boats that have been fashioned into buildings using wood, and a light grey material. Several buildings are unlit, but most are, and you see Black Dragonborn roaming around the streets doing business, hauling fish into town, or some have even collected around fires, where you can see groups of figures play music, and dance around fires. Around this central area around the shore of the lake, newer buildings seem to be either constructed, or partially so, that follow a more familiar Karen style of fired clay tile, or grey slate roofs, and stone brick, or painted clay brick walls. Most of these newer structures have their lights off at this time of night.
