Black Dragonborn

Nocturnal Hunters, Patient Divers

A Pale moon blankets the lush canopy above a small group of hunter's. Their black scales, and nimble forms helps them to be invisible in the shadows of night.   Black Dragonborn live in the swamps, coasts, and jungles of Gora in a great variety of methods. Black Dragonborn who live in swamps may build villages above the water covered grounds with stilts to keep the village out of harms way, while Black Dragonborn that live in jungles may build their villages high up in trees and canopies, using the trees as natural stilts and bridges. Black Dragonborn have several natural advantages to living in these environments like being able to breath water and air, or their naturally dark scales and dark vision. These natural adaptations make them prime nocturnal hunters on land, and any time while in water by blending in with the muck and dark silt at the base of tropical rivers. Their excellence in water has also allowed them to spread to coasts where they market their fantastic fishing capability to anyone who pays well enough. This aptitude in water comes from the gills on their necks (like mentioned above), and their long fin running down their backs. This fin lets them slither very quickly in the water along with their webbed hands and feet. Their naturally affinity to land and water has made them one of the most diverse peoples in all of Gora, and one of the most adaptable as well. Black Dragonborn are very different culturally across these different environments they can settle in, so no city or village will be the exact same as the last.

In the northern Regions of Gora, most of the rural, as well as urban populations consist of Black Dragonborn. After most of the deadly creatures, and plants were hunted to near extinction within the pinchot Rainforest, Black dragonborn populations began to explode, as the jungle now safer then ever, provided tribal peoples with everything they needed. Records made by explorers from the Ka'Reli Empire (the proto Gilded crown) told of a people who knew not hunger, and celebrated every night to their black god of water and vengeance for the jungles bounty. Now under the Gilded crowns rule, the black dragonborn make up most of the work force on land and sea, being placed even bellow other chromatic dragonborn. Most Black dragonborn spend their time farming, fishing, or logging. Though the harvesting of the natural recourses has begun to destabilize tribal peoples remaining in the Pinchot Rainforest, causing banditry, and a general notion in wealth communities that black dragonborn are more prone to savagery, unfortunately.
