Volorun

Volorun is the northernmost continent that dominates the Thelesian map. It stretches all the way from east to west across the world, and contains many different kinds of peoples and landforms. In the west, the City of the First Crystal controls the western portion of Volorun and passage to Siopdre.   The southern coast of Volorun is populated with smooth coastlines. Small, stout coastal ports stand along the length of it, alternatively targets for piracy and wealthy shipping ports. Ruined husks of former strongholds also dot the landscape, including several emptied castles from former warlords. Jungles and forests follow the coastline, forming in the rain shadows of the coast. Particularly along the coast near the Badumunzes, the forest is thickly grown before the mountains begin.

Western Reaches

Mestone, First City of the Crystal

Mestone, (better known as the First City of the Crystal) is a city built into an enormous purple crystalline growth that juts out of the sea. It is unclear from whence the crystal came, but it is widely accepted to be the boundary of the Rift. South of the City of the First Crystal, the Rift begins into the Forest of Thorns and eventually combines with the Darkwood Jungle before reaching the Strait of Siopdre.

Asstone

A mid-sized city in its own right, Asstone was built to be a port fishing city. Due to its proximity to the sprawling Cone Woods, however, Asstone quickly grew into a city with the mightiest shipyards in all of Thelesia. One can get any kind of ship they can imagine built in Asstone, though their safety is not guaranteed. As the largest port city in the world, all manner of unpleasant characters populate the Asstonian shipyards including sellswords, pirates, and cutthroat seafaring merchants looking to have their hulls patched from the last scrap they found themselves in.

North Shore

Traveling east from Asstone, one passes Baford, a small port town, and Maham Castle, which is the ancestral seat of the Count Dovo. Count Dovo's descendant, Daavos Blackstroke, currently resides in Maham Castle as the Exarch of Silence of the The Nosirithi Order. Further along the coast is the ruins of the Tower of Ninabi the Dire, a notable sorceror of centuries past.

The Twins

A pair of vales, the Mawry and Vale of Mist sit across from one another facing Palliholm, a city historically home to the Halfling crime syndicate known as The Red Hand. Palliholm is nestled in the foothills of the Buzaharbh Spires, which directly face the Eternal Spires. Seated at the mouth of the Twin Spires are the former twin cities of Ziragzig and Medua, though Medua was razed several decades ago. Tiburh, north of the Twin Spires, serves as a trading outpost between the Sea of Dreams and the Badumunz Mountains.

Braedebekkr

Braedebekkr is the floating city above the Badumunz Mountains. Formed by gods during the Gods of Men Period, Braedebekkr was entrusted to the Nuwi people, an air genasi/dwarf hybrid group. They are the keepers of the Floating City, and have developed a sophisticated set of magical weather and temperature stabilizers in conjunction with Azura, an enormous air elemental created with Braedebekkr and tied to its essence.

The Slate Coast

Jungle of Ruins

The Jungle of Ruins contains the ruins of a former kingdom that thrived in the rain shadow formed by the Badumunzes. The culture there was of little import, aside from the massive protective structures that they built in order to keep the pirate raiders at bay. It was the safest port for trading in all of Volorun until Lothiash the Vain came down on it and froze the settlement and all of its denizens. They remain frozen to this day, stuck in place by some curse triggered by their exceedingly arrogant king. The jungle grew up around the town, but even now the place remains an icy replica of the way it was on that day.

Huamacha Jungle

The Huamacha Jungle is home to the Qoxori people, hunter tribes of Bullywugs that brew their own poisons to use on their blades. They are known for their particularly nasty poison, Ekkekyde, which is capable of arresting the heart in 30 seconds. However, they are mostly a peaceful people and prefer to utilize Ekkekyde for hunting the great cranes that reside on the coast of the Sea of Esa.

The Bastion

The Bastion of Gothmug of Udun is the seat of Gothmug of Udun. The city itself sits on the coast of the Sea of Isa, and replaced the former establishment in the Jungle of Ruins after it was frozen as the most protected port on the coast. It is well-known for offering goods of all kinds, and for Gothmug of Udun's notoriously rotund figure. It is said that he feasts every eve on the profits of the day, and that he has no less than a dozen bards entertaining him and his guests nightly. If one is to receive an invitation to his feast, it is more than folly to refuse.

Minas Gelmaedhre

Minas Gelmaedhre is a religious site that most of the major religions have a temple in. It is a collection of houses of worship to all different pantheons, and was blessed and abjured from conflict and war as the gods' last action before the Pact of Valonde locked them out of the Prime Material. This site allows religious worshippers of all creeds to visit the temple of their patron in peace, requiring that weapons be left on the outskirts in a holy crypt. The site itself produces a calming effect, and all creatures receive +10 to persuasion checks to discourage violence. Additionally, creatures receive a +3 to all religion checks as this is the last place the gods stood on the Prime Material.

Baybluff

Ironically, Baybluff is not near a bay, though it is notable because of the bluffs. The establishment itself is pushed back into the mountainside, where a waterfall once plummeted down the cliff face. The town was built in the hollow the waterfall made, though the river that formed it is long dried up. Baybluff is a mining town with labyrinthine mines spidering out from it in all directions. Many a traveler and adventurer has become lost in the mines, never to be found again. The residents of Baybluff are not miners themselves but Felis artificers who have crafted automatonic Duergars to do the mining for them.

Obsidian Fells

Obsidian Fells was formed as the result of a battle of two Elemental Titans that fought in this place before the Rift. Incendus the Fire Titan and Aquira the Water Titan clashed at this place, and as Aquira struck the fatal blow Incendus wrapped Aquira in a deadly embrace as they fell to the ground. Incendus' body cooled rapidly as it dissipated and Aquira's body unmade itself, morphing into these hills of obsidian.
