Borinsford
A small and forested community, Borinsford sits at the juncture of the Mawry and Misty Vales. A simple people, the denizens of Borinsford primarily survive by subsistence farming and the proceeds from their logging mercantilism.
Demographics
Borinsford is comprised of mostly humans, though a few of the denizens have Fey ancestry through intermingled relationships with Wood Elves.
Government
A mayor oversees the small town and manages the individuals therein. There is a small militia force of roughly 30 armed men who stand ready to defend the city from the threats that the forest contain, chiefly wild animals such as wolves, owlbears, and the occasional predatory bird.
Defences
A small wooden barrier is the only meaningful defence from the world outside, standing 15' tall and constructed purely from the timbers of the forest surrounding the village.
Industry & Trade
Lumber is their primary export, with a few areas around the town itself having been cleared for the farming that supports the denizens of the village. A few skilled artisans also are able to export their own creations including pitchforks, stone braziers, and the metallic components for clasps.
Infrastructure
Rickshaw Sawmill, Cantering Ruffian Tavern & Inn, Greene Scythe Working Animals, Backbock Bakery, Smitty's General Store
Districts
None to speak of. The village is so small that it is all contained within one district, ringed by the wall around it.
Assets
Lumber and natural resources are what Borinsford has to offer — wooden material of any sort is in great supply, pack and prey animals also available in the plentiful Vales to the east and the west. Some small stone quarries are also available to the north of Borinsford, though those are typically a day's journey away by caravan.
Guilds and Factions
No guilds exist in Borinsford, though members of the Red Hand have taken refuge in this small village from time to time.
History
Founded by a traveling band of humans who were displaced out of Mestone, the original inhabitants sought out Borinsford
Points of interest
Shrine of Aza'mari — a dedication to the cleric of life, serving Naenia. Aza'mari was a hero during the Gods of Men era, a few thousand years after Borinsford was founded. She remains this village's most famous occupant over 10000 years later.
You notice something obvious that you should have picked up while you were outside: for a village as small as Borinsford it's pretty strange that there's an actual town square here. It's in the center, almost nearly perfectly round, and has a 20' stone statue in its center. The statue depicts a woman in antiquated armor and seemingly unarmed, and is clearly ancient. Though the statue has been weathered and — apparently more recently — defaced, there is something about the presence that this woman conveys even centuries later that's.. inspiring. The village then radiates outward from that point, sliced north-to-south by the thoroughfare that you all approached on (you came in from the south).
