Tiburh

Government

Rox'narians still control most of the city's resources, though their grip on the city itself was never terribly tight to begin with. The Riders have mostly gone domestic, only to be called to arms to defend the city from threat or to reinforce their hold on the region should another power threaten it.

Infrastructure

Tiburh is a low-strung settlement, nothing boasting more than three stories. The center of the town is ringed by a half wall of dark slate, wherein lie the longhouses that the Riders use for their infrequent gatherings. The rest of the town is a hodgepodge of inns, taverns, residences, hovels, and the entire center of the town is dominated by the Dwibthid Bazaar.

Districts

No true divisions between the districts of Tiburh exist, save the small wall between the expanse of the village and the longhouses of the Riders.

History

The Rogue Riders of R'noxar dissolved when they settled at Tiburh. They developed into a group of merchants and traders since they sit between the Twin Spires and the Badumunz Mountains. They find that most common goods come through their town, but strangely always seem to be short of salt. There are few salt mines in the Badumunzes, and the one reliable source in Volorun exists far across the continent close to the Crimson Jungle.

Points of interest

The Dwibthid Bazaar is one of the largest open-air markets in all of Volorun. It boasts the finest of pottery and artisan containers that Thelesia has to offer as well as general weapons, foods, and spell component needs that one might make use of. Shortages in wooden accoutrements (including paper products) and salt are the notable exceptions to the bounty of the bazaar.

Architecture

Most of the construction is made either from adobe made from the clay native to the region or from stones, most frequently imported from quarries just north of the Twins. Shale is predominant in architecture for roofing, as is copper (imported from mines in the Badumunzes).

Climate

Arid, with some grasslands a bit further away from the city proper. Rain comes in frequently, but in the monsoon season it will drench the city entirely.

Due to the climate, it is a symbol of relative status to walk the city with cleaned shoes. To keep one's shoes clean enough to enjoy this status symbol their shoes must be either cleaned twice per day or swapped equally as often for a fresh pair.

Natural Resources

There is a dearth of plant resources in and around Tiburh. Due to the relatively arid climate, no trees are able to grow within a hundred or so miles of the city, making wooden imports of significantly higher value here than in other cities. They highly value salt because it is in low supply as well. However, one thing that Tiburh does have significant amounts of is clay. The sedimentation of the soil in the vicinity makes for a perfect concoction to make adobe structures and potting material.
