The Quarry

The Quarry is one of the few parts of Aeolus City which isn't circular and isn't named after a being from Greek mythology.

When the original colonists founded Aeolus City, they got the marble for the official buildings from this area, northwest of the city, so it was a rock quarry. Nobody bothered naming the place after any of the old gods, or after any person important to the colony, so it became just The Quarry.

The quarry itself was closed down after a few hundred years and became a lake as it filled with water. When the old area where the rich lived, Daffodil Meadow, turned into the slum Tartarus, the rich moved to the Quarry and made their home there instead.
