Sky-Reaver Rank/Title in The Skyrunner Tribe | World Anvil

Sky-Reaver

Sky-Reavers are the only Combative Exclusive rank among the Tribe. Where all the other ranks may include individuals mores killed in other tasks such as crafting or farming or communing with the Ancestral Spirits, Sky-Reavers are highly skilled and highly trained warriors. These individuals are the champions of martial combat within the Tribe and represent them in combat situations. To a Sky-Reaver it does not matter if you fight with arcane or ax so long as you can apply your skills in the protection and championing of the Tribe.

Qualifications

Someone that wishes to become a Sky-Reaver must be of appropriate fighting age, not too young, or too old. They must also have been a Towateke and Windwarrior first to completely qualify.

Requirements

Must have passed the following Rites:

From Previous Ranks-

New-

Appointment

Sky-Reavers are chosen from the ranks of the Tribe by War Council members and trained under a specific mentor's wing. When they are ready they are allowed to take the Rite of the Elements and ascend to this prestigious rank. War-Council members must be former Sky-Reavers so new Sky-Reavers are trained in essence to replace their masters in time.

Duties

A Sky-Reaver's main duties are to the protection and longevity of the Tribe as a whole. Ensuring the training and execution of military principles that keep the tribe alive to the next generation. Many Sky-Reavers form their exclusive groups to protect specific aspects of the tribe including the Council, the Chieftain, the Wyverns, and their Land. By working together with one another and with the tribe they are able to keep the longevity of the tribe alive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead military opporations when required
  • Creation of an Elite Fighting force of three other individuals that is specilized in some way
  • Protection of the Tribe
  • Championing the Tribe in situations of Single Combat or similar events
A Sky-Reaver's day is not focused on the maintaining of the Tribe's store of food or the quality of their armor but instead with keeping them alive. These military-focused fighters are in charge of patrols, scouting missions, military training, and military advisement to War Councilors. Days spent training, patroling, brawling, and honing their skills make these individuals deadly in combat whenever the need arises.

Benefits

Sky-Reavers receive the full protection and benefits of the Tribe as a whole just like other Blooded ranks. From the rite of trial and voice in tribe meetings to the equal distributions of food and bounty from supply gatherings and hunts to the rite of spiritual guidance and social rites of marriage and education. Sky-Reavers are also highly respected. Being individuals that have sworn their lifeblood to the protection of the tribe and people likely destined to lay their life down for others they live short lives but highly honored ones. Having undergone the Rite of the Elements to gain power and wisdom to defend the tribe a Sky-Reaver is considered one of the higher authorities on war, only eclipsed by War Counselors and the Chieftain themselves.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The title of Sky-Reaver is one that is limited in length. Once an individual reaches a certain age or ability to fight the title is passed on to another. These individuals can then become Towateke or Council members if they choose.
