High Giant Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

High Giant

Like the mortal elves, High Giants are the rulers of Jotunheim, their immortality an asset in the institutional knowledge needed to keep threats like the Gaw in the north at bay. They are a touch taller than standard giants, but not quite as sturdily built, they often have tall and willow elven proportions and more delicate features.   While prime Giants in the modern day have largely lost touch with their innate air magic abilities, they are awakened in those with deeply magical Vanir blood, as well as an affinity for other sorts of magic. Both of their parent species are, as a rule, antisocial and solitary when they can get away with it, and High Giants are no different. Maybe doubly so.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

High Giant age stages take after whichever culture they are raised in, but all things being equal, they lean toward their elven side in this regard. They reach full size around 15 years of age, but are still considered in their youth until the age of 100, at 250 they are usually done with their procreation years, and are considered an elder at 500 years old and beyond.
Legacy Beings take on traits of each of their parent species. A single Vanir far back in a long line of Giants will make for a present day High Giant with mostly Giant characteristics.   Choose which of your parent species you take after more, then take the Stats and Prime Traits of that parent species, and the Legacy Trait of the other parent species.
