Frost Giant Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

Frost Giant

Frost Giants are fierce warriors that hail from all over Jotunheim, but also exist in the elemental lands of Jotunheim. It is hard to say whether the Frost Giants originated when Giants migrated south in the early days of the Realm or a sailor with elemental heritage found their ways to the frozen northern shores.   They are even more solitary than regular old Giants, and that's saying something. They are as formidable with a sword as a spell, and while they may be perfectly friendly, one should always assume they aren't.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Frost Giant age stages take after whichever culture they are raised in, but all things being equal, they lean toward their elven side in this regard. They reach full size around 20 years of age, but are still considered in their youth until the age of 100, at 250 they are usually done with their procreation years, and are considered an elder at 500 years old and beyond.
Legacy Beings take on traits of each of their parent species. A single Water Elemental far back in a long line of Giants will make for a present day Frost Giant with mostly Giant characteristics. That Frost Giant individual, however, would have had to have a Vanir or God in their family tree somewhere, as they are the only humanoid beings that can directly physically interact with an Elemental, much less procreate with them.   Choose which of your parent species you take after more, then take the Stats and Prime Traits of that parent species, and the Legacy Trait of the other parent species.
