Nuhu Islands (ˈnu.hu ˈaɪ̯ləndz)

"When all others were faithless to the Empire, we alone have carried the legacy of Muria forward."
Raksayudha, the Pangeranaga of Bikusigara

The Nuhu Islands are a group of 47 islands in the southeastern portion of the Mangimoi Archipelago. They are inhabited by the Ularan, an ethnic group of Kikipua originally from the Kanluranan islands of the Southwestern Region. According to their history, the ancestors of the Ularan were the governors of the Mangimoi Archipelago for the Empire of Muria, after the nation of Anmara was destroyed by the Nakaal sorcerers. This history has made them the target of bitter hatred from the Anma, whose ancestors ruled Anmara.

Points of Interest

The only settlement of any size in the Nuhu Islands is Sagara Luhur, the capital of Bikusigara. It is located on the island of Nuhu Bes, and is of particular interest to historians. According the to the Ularan, the city was preserved intact through the Clarati's destruction of Muria, and is the only remaining example of a seat of Murian Imperial power remaining in the world.

Another interesting location is the town of Lamaraja, located on the southeastern coast of Nuhu Bes. Like Sagara Luhur, it is said to date back to the Empire of Muria, and houses the Grand Temple to Dewi Calikutli, an ancient sea-goddess of the Ularan.

Geography

While there are forty-seven islands in the group, the two largest make up the vast majority of the territory. The other forty-five collectively only represent a quarter of the land area, and many of them are small and uninhabited, or have only a single small village. The entire island group is a little less than one hundred and forty miles from east to west, and about a hundred miles from north to south.

I like the idea that most of the islands are really tiny. :) Those sorts of groups of islands really appeal to me.

Me too! I have a lot of places where there are a bunch of little islands - have to get to the million somehow!
