Nofo Islands (ˈno.fo ˈaɪ̯ləndz)
"...and whatever else you do, never mistake one of the Mangimoi for one of the Ngofangare. I know they can be hard to tell apart, but they don't think so, and they'll never do business with you again if you confuse the two."
The Nofo Islands are the northernmost island group in the Mangimoi Archipelago. It is made up of nearly four hundred islands, most of which are small and uninhabited. Both the Mangimoi and Ngofangare ethnicities originated in the Nofo Islands, and it is here that their long-standing rivalry was forged.
Most of the islands are controlled by the Kingdom of Pagi, which is centered on the large island of Gimoi and is primarily Mangimoi. Those islands not controlled by Pagi are instead controlled by the Ngofangare Kingdom of Kodu, which has most of its power to the south in the Sama Islands. While skirmishes have occasionally broken out over the islands on the borders between these two kingdoms, most of the competition between them has been economic in nature. They have both grown very wealthy selling spices, and they have used their wealth to build grand cities and temples, and constantly comparing their own monuments with each other. This has led to some of the most impressive and opulent structures in the Great Ring.
Points of Interest
The city of Tobel is the capital of the Kingdom of Pagi, and the Mangimoi have spared no expense to make it one of the most beautiful settlements in the world. Huge marble palaces adorned with gold and gems are located throughout the city, and the grand temple to the Hyang is considered one of the wonders of the world.
Geography
The Nofo Islands are the second largest island group in the Mangimoi Archipelago, and contain Gimoi, the largest island in the entire archipelago. The smaller islands are mostly given over to agriculture, with many of the spices the archipelago is known for grown only on a few islands which are kept secret. The entire group extends about three hundred and fifty miles from north to south, and three hundred miles from east to west.

Oh no, the greatest insult is to be mistaken for your rivals! I love that their rivalry has led to some really nice monuments and temples, though.
