Lamofo Islands (laˈmo.fo ˈaɪ̯ləndz)
"If it weren't for the disappearances on Tubu, these islands would be rightfully forgotten, not the center of our poor kingdom." - Tura Malanoa, ruler of Gailo
The Lamofo Islands make up the southwestern section of the Mangimoi Archipelago. The rest of the archipelago considers them something of a backwater, off the trading routes and with no notable trade goods that compare with the other islands in the archipelago. Along with the Mbaru Islands, the Lamofo Islands are ruled by the Kingdom of Gailo, one of the four major kingdoms of the area. A few years ago, a mysterious disaster struck the Kingdom when the entire population of the island of Tubu, including the entire royal family and the majority of the kingdom's population suddenly vanished. This left Malanoa as the last surviving heir to the throne. Malanoa had been sent to serve as the governor of the Lamofo Islands as a punishment for his licentious behaviour in the capital, and he was as shocked as anyone to find himself suddenly inheriting rulership of the kingdom, diminished as it was. For fear of what had happened on Tubu, Malanoa elected to establish his capital on Gamfene rather than return to Tubu, elevating the former backwater to a region of some importance.
Points of Interest
The only settlement of any size is Gailolo, which Malanoa has made his capital. Before the emptying of Tubu, Gailolo was a simple fishing town that also had the seat of the Governor, considered "rustic" by the nobility of the kingdom. In the last several years, the town has grown significantly as Malanoa has been rebuilding the government there, and new buildings now outnumber the older ones.
Geography
The Lamofara islands are a group of forty-seven island located in the southwestern part of the Mangimoi Archipelago. The only island of significant size is Gamfene, which makes up nearly sixty percent of the land mass of the entire group. Most of the other islands are uninhabited and barren, with only a few villages and some limited forest cover.

I don't think I would return to Tubu either. I'm interested what sort of ruler Malanoa will make in the end. They sound like a beautiful set of islands despite not being very desirable from a trade standpoint.
