Plainér Town
Demographics
The town is predominantly human, but several miners are White Dwarves. This is a place that is significantly removed from major trade routes, so shops are small and most people here barely eke out a living.
Government
The town is presided over by the Magistrate, with the Foreman of the Mines getting a particular say in the town's governance as well.
Defences
The town is far away from borders and isn't an area of unrest, so defences are minimal. The usual posting of a score of guards and the walled manor of the Magistrate are the only such defences from raiders or monsters out of the White Guard Mountains.
Industry & Trade
Plainér Marble is some of the whitest and most famous building material of Gratica Province, and this town is the location of the mines. Of course, not all here are miners, and those who aren't are commonly farmers and craftspeople that supply the basics of life to those who are.
Infrastructure
The town spans the Freebrook River, and a pair of well-made bridges connect the Plainér Miner's Village in the north with the mines. There is a small cleared square for travelling merchants and harvest festivals in the centre of the main town. Unlike most villages of its size, the Plainér Temple of Kiral is made of marble, showing off the skills of local craftsmen.
Assets
Being a resource town, the people here are not very rich, and so valuables are few and far between, and usually kept to oneself. Mining equipment and the famous marble of the town are stored in warehouses across the stream from the Miner's Village.

History
Plainér Town is one of the original settlements that were founded by The Gratic Empire in its early days. Plainér marble has become known the world over for its beauty, and that is because of the Empire. All the same, the extraction of the material is not without its difficulties; the miners rebelled in 159 II and to quell the uprising, the government instituted a Foreman for the purpose of championing the miners' interests. Whether the three Foremen that have watched over the mines have been doing their job in this regard is a matter of personal opinion.
Architecture
Stone buildings in town are often made with the town's famous marble, giving the buildings a white sheen.
Geography
Plainér Town is built on the banks of the Freebrook River, and is located near the hills that form the foothills of the White Guard Mountains. The town proper is built on the rolling plains, while the mines are located in the nearby hills.
