Élen Agenar

The priest of the temple is a young pale woman of maybe two dozen winters. She's clothed in the orange robes and white vest that forms the ceremonial dress of a priest. All that clothing, however, makes her look larger than she really is although she isn't small by any means. Her thin frame is a little hunched as she goes about the ceremony. Her face is bright and smiling, although you can tell that there is a certain nervousness about her expression.   Her hands carry a book as she goes about her sermon, and she seems to falter and trace the words of the prayers as she reads them. At one point, she even closes the book with an unceremonious slam that echoes through the temple.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Élen is a thin woman, with quite pale skin and a slight hunchback to her shoulders. She isn't very fit, although her youth makes up for that to a certain degree. Her face is fair, and her long hair often hides the small scars on her neck and upper back. She is often found wearing her ceremonial robes, but in her off time she wears common clothing.

Special abilities

Due to her role as a priest, she has access to some divine powers, although she isn't particularly skilled with them.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Élen was born to a group of day labourers in Gratic City, but she had a very rough childhood. The slight hunch in her shoulders quickly got her labelled as a hunchback. At one point, she was subjected to abuse by her friends, where she got a series of serious wounds to her upper back and neck. After that day, she decided to be a priest, as the gods smiled favourably on her in those dark hours. She had some difficulty keeping up with the education required for her role, but she does a good enough job at it all the same.   During the group's time in Plainér Town, Geort Adanar of the Drakeslayers visited her temple, although they did not become friends.

Morality & Philosophy

She is very much consumed by the idea that the world is full of sin, and that she is chosen to help lead them into the light. It affects her every choice, and she does her best to honour her pact with the Four. Because of this religious fervour, she is also very traditional and helpful to those in need.

Taboos

  • As a priest, she is cautious around the number five, as it is considered unlucky.
  • Personality Characteristics

    Motivation

As a fervent priest, her motivation is protecting her flock from the sins and danger of the world, and she does a wonderful job of it. She also has a vague dream of teaching someone the rites and rituals of being a priest someday, but she rarely finds the time.

    Savvies & Ineptitudes

  • She isn't particularly skilled at reading and writing, although she can do them well enough.
  • She knows a great deal about religion and local history
  • Likes & Dislikes

  • She keeps her sermons short and to the point, as she doesn't like talking for long periods of time.
  • She is fascinated by the stories of heroes from The Étak Writings, and keeps abreast of stories of modern-day prophets.
  • Virtues & Personality perks

  • A kind outlook on the world.
  • A bravery when her flock is in danger.
  • Vices & Personality flaws

  • She seems a little scatter-brained or eccentric to many locals
  • Hygiene

She keeps herself very clean and often finds herself encouraging other to do the same.

    Social

    Religious Views

She takes to her religion with a fervour that isn't commonly seen in priests. She sticks to the letter of the Étak Writings as best as she can, and uses them as a guide for living one's best life. In town, she often bestows blessings on her friends and strangers alike.

    Social Aptitude

She is a bit shy, preferring to not make grand gestures or befriending huge numbers of people. She sticks to the words of her prayers and hates making mistakes.

    Speech

She has a low voice and a slight boom to her speech.

    Wealth & Financial state

As a priest, she makes a small amount of money from the capital, but its never quite enough to get by and she tends to rely on donations. Being a mining town and her temple being one of Kiral, this isn't as hard as it is in other places. She has a modest house near the temple and she doesn't carry money on her normally.
