Geort Paém
At the guard barracks, you ask for the captain, and the scribe there shakes his head. He then leads you into a small office where a man is sitting at a table. There is a bottle of alcohol on the table, recently opened, and the room reeks of the stuff.
The man himself has wild, unkempt brown hair and wears armour and a helmet that designate him the Captain of this particular group of guards. His eyes are blue and watery and have difficulty focusing on you. He looks as though he may have been fit once, but a dependence on drink has rendered him nearly useless.
"Hello!" he says a little too loudly, then adds in a quieter voice, "I'm the Captain 'round here. What can I - can I do you for?"

Personal history
Geort grew up in a broken family, with his mom living as a farmer in Plainér Town and his father living in the capital as a carpenter. The two parents were constantly arguing and didn't pay much attention to their child. When Geort was finally old enough to go into the military, he quickly became hooked on alcohol, and he drunkenly made his way to the title of Captain of the guard in Plainér Town.
Morality & Philosophy
Geort still wishes to uphold the law of the Empire, but he doesn't worry too much about the moral implications of these laws or whether or not they are unfair. He still dispenses the law fairly and justly when he needs to. He likes to think of himself as a good person that bad things have happened to.

Motivation
When he first joined the military, he wanted to become the Lieutenant of the Imperial Army for one of the many military forts and camps on the borders of the Empire, but those individuals needed to be well-educated and of a noble background, which he lacked. He settled for being a Captain of the Imperial Army/Imperial Navy, but he still wonders if his good work over the last few years is enough to get him the position.
