Déna Elganar

As you take a seat at a table, you notice a very tall woman making her way around the tables. She is very thin, almost frailly so. Her long brown hair curls down in front of her, almost reaching her waist. She wears a shirt and trousers, but the shirt is checkered red-and-white, which is an odd choice.   A bar patron tries to trip her up, and she leaps over his outstretched foot gracefully and dumps a half-empty tankard over his head. The man is fuming and storms out of the bar, and she chuckles to herself.   Finally, she gets around to your table. "Between you and me," she says as she lays down your drinks, "some people just don't know when to quit. He's been trying to get me for weeks but I keep saying no." She shakes her head in annoyance.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Déna is a very tall and thin woman, often needing to duck to get through low doors and able to slip through a crowd with ease.

Facial Features

She has a thin face, with a few freckles on each cheek.

Apparel & Accessories

She tends to wear her favourite checkered shirt and brown trousers, although she does like trying out new outfits.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Déna was born to one of the families that ran the old homesteads in town until the Inn of the Broken Sword drove them out of business. When the Inn was built, she snatched up the chance to work there, and she's using her hard-earned tips and pay to learn more about botany and plants.   The Drakeslayers attacked a group of cultists at the inn in the late winter of 182 II , and she hid upstairs during the conflict.

Morality & Philosophy

Déna is a sweet person, and she loves to help out where she can. That being said, she isn't above giving someone what they deserve and she often gets involved in local gossip.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Déna wants to learn at one of the many schools around the province, as she wants to be a botanist or a collector of strange plants. She has dreams of attending The University, although she doubts that she'll get in.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

  • Déna can read and write, which puts her above many of the local peasants.
  • She's also got a quick mind and a nimble wit (almost as nimble as herself).
  • Likes & Dislikes

  • She enjoys gossip a little bit more than is healthy sometimes.
  • She has a love of learning and keeps a few books at home.
  • Unwanted advances are often met with hate by her.
  • Virtues & Personality perks

  • A genuine curiosity about the world around her.
  • Love and appreciation for all people.
  • Vices & Personality flaws

  • If you cross her, she will get back at you in a nasty or embarrassing way.
  • Hygiene

She keeps herself well cleaned and bathes regularly. Besides the occasional stain from her job, she doesn't get dirty often.

    Social

    Social Aptitude

She has an easy-going attitude and a simple charm about her. She isn't the bravest person you'll ever meet by a long shot, but she does muster up the bravery for a silly prank or two every once in a while. She has good manners and doesn't make a big deal of herself.

    Speech

She has a smooth high voice and is fond of whispering if she doesn't want to be overheard.

    Wealth & Financial state

Déna doesn't have a large amount of money on her, as she spends much of it on food and new clothing. What little there is left over is set aside for books or improving her education, although this sum of money is very small indeed.
