Inn of the Broken Sword

In the far corner of the plaza, you can see a rising structure. It is made of stone with reinforcing timbers along the edges, around the several windows, and between the four floors of the building, with the fourth floor being entirely of light-coloured wood. It looks recently built, and you can see that there is a small outbuilding next to it, with the whole ensemble surrounded by a low stone wall.   As you approach the building, you can see that there is a small sign depicting a shattered sword hanging from above the oaken door. There is a small yard, and you can see that the outbuilding appears to be a stable, with an older stableboy chatting amicably with one of the many patrons of what looks to be an inn.   Going inside, the interior is a bit dimly lit, with the windows being mostly closed due to the strong wind coming off the mountains. This traps the smoky and musky smell of the place inside, which makes you crinkle your nose a little. There are several wooden tables, some of them in fairly bad shape. A tall man stands behind the counter of the bar area, cleaning out a mug and putting it back on the shelf. The place is busy, and there is another thin woman making her way through the crowded room in an attempt to get drinks and meals to the various tables.   The room that you've purchased is good enough considering the price you've paid for it. It has a pair of good beds, a small washbasin, a chamber pot, and it has a window view on the square.

Architecture

The inn is made of local stone and local wood from the small forest south of the temple. The stone wall surrounds the compound and the stable is made of the same material.   The main room has seats for about two dozen people, and it is full on most nights. The room is currently staffed by Klamó Halk and Déna Elganar while Óldagar Daga is in mourning.   The inn has enough room for about three dozen travellers.

History

This inn was built about five years ago to replace the pair of small boarding houses that used to be common around the region. Those boarding houses have now closed down and the inn is the only place in town for those looking for a place to spend the night.   Three members of The Dragon Heresy took residence there in the late winter of 182 II before being killed by the Drakeslayers .
