Freeport

Cloud sat on the crates watching across the bustling harbour, her tail swished slightly as she took in the scents and sounds of life. So, this was Freeport a new start for anyone and a place where your past could be forgotten, somewhere you could make your fortune or lose everything in one night. She purred slightly “This is going to be fun” she said quietly to herself.
  Located on Crescent Island  island in the Islands Of Mist , Freeport is a haven for anyone looking for a new start, it is a racial melting pot where you can see creatures of all shapes and size. The street bustle with life as the merchants of the world meet to trade in the place that anything can be brought for a price.The only thing that one cannot buy here are slaves, since the Lord of Freeport has a serious issue with slavers, and it is not good to get on his bad side as he is the be all and end all of local law enforcement.   Many taverns dot the streets and it is always lively at night in the port that never sleeps, festivals are common and even when one isn’t going on it feels like it should be.

Government

The town is governed by Artemes Scott he holds council with a few long time residence of Port, most notably Trevor Gansted. He is a fair man who ensure that peace is maintained as much as possible and that no major infraction occur that would upset the delicate balance of Freeport.

Defences

Freehold maintains a fleet of 15 Galleons each equipped with cannons, and a full military contingent. Each ship also has a battle mage assigned to it. The Town Guard consists of about 120 members and are well trained and supplied. Beyond this it is worth noting that several very powerful character call Freehold home.

Industry & Trade

Freehold's primary trade is trade itself, if your want to buy something that is rare or somewhat illiict then freeport is the place for you. It other primary source of income is the Feldon Mine a very lucrative and resource ladden silver mine located on Mount Ingle.  

Availability Of Goods

The variet of goods that freeport can contain at anyone time varies greatly upon its rarity and the demand for the item in freeport itself. For example while magic items can be brought and sold within the port, most average people do not have a use for these items since they lack the skill to use them. Where as armours and mudane items are more common for a guideline for the chance of an item being available in the city see the table at the bottom of this section.  

Price of Goods

When buying or selling items the price can vary greatly from merchant to merchant, depending upon availability, rarity and demand. Also one needs to take into consideration the charasmatic abilities of the buyer and the seller, hangling and deal making is common as is the trade of goods for other goods.

History

Freeport was founded in 1553 by Artemes Scott current lord of the city, It has survived numerous attacks from Pirates, Khenari Slavers and several monsterous sea creatures over the years.

Architecture

Freeport's building conists of a large fortified central stronghold surround street of numberous styles and tastes. It is quite dizzy to walk down some of the streets as you will find Nubinda construct next to and elven house, followed by the small cottage of a halfling. Pretty much any style of architecture can be found in Freeport.

Geography

Freeport nestles on a large bay and rises up gradually towards the jungles surround Mount Ingle . There are ample resources in the area and a large amount of space for expansion.
