The Legendary Grey Fox
The Khenari regarded him, pale skin and angular features, elongated ear tip and bone white hair to a one. They stood with the grace of a born killers, relaxed but ready to strike in a heartbeat and they regarded him like a cat watches an insect crawl across the dirt. Their leader with flame red hair regarded him with icy eyes full of malice and hatred. “Gansted.” The word carried volumes of hate, “the Queen will pay handsomely for your head.” Gansted looked him in the eye, there was no fear, no contempt, he might as well have been regarding a rock on the side of the path. A smile briefly touched his mouth, but never reached his eyes as he spoke in a calm and flat voice. “And I guess you think you will be the one to delivering it. Many have tried, will you be the next to join them? I think so.”
THERE ARE FEW PEOPLE, if any that have not heard of the Trevor Gansted, for his tales and exploits are known the world over by children and adults a like. Many a bard will sing of his deeds in taverns and banquets, he is often the talk of royal courts and tap rooms alike.
Some of the stories told about The Gray Fox may be exagerated, but many are not.
