Freeport: Dockside

The waterfront area of Freeport is known locally as "Dockside" and is one of the more rowdy areas of the port. Currently the dockside contains ten of the fourteen wharves that stretch out in to the bay they can handle a maximum of about twenty sea going vessels at a time. In times of war the easternmost docks are reserved for the ports warships, there will alway be at least two of these docked here at all times, the rest will be out in the bay or in service.
Dominated mostly by warehouses, shipping offices and a number of taverns and inns, this area is the home of the sailors, dockworkers and various drifters from other cultures. It is a common haunt of thieves and thugs looking for fresh marks, Their is also a heavy presence of private guards around the warehouse areas, and scuffles are not uncommon between them and the local thieves guild.
