Khadric Corner

It is true that many find the Incontrovertible Edicts a burden too great for their consciences. Others find these four rules simple and, in fact, feel that they have woven them into the fabric of their everyday lives. Those in the former group tend to eschew Pendril while those in the latter often find the Watchful City a welcome haven. The Khadra have, as a general rule, been a popular exemplar of the latter, so much so that a small enclave has developed in the southern quarter of the circular city.

With the six or eight blocks that form this ironically dubbed "corner," one can find perhaps the largest community of Khadra outside the Underground Kingdom. Buildings coaxed from stone stand at a comfortable height - perhaps three paces for two stories - if one measured things by the Khadric standards. Dozens of homes can be found in the two stories that exist below ground - all connected via network of tunnels that keep traffic on the streets at a minimum during the worst of the summer heat and winter cold. All manner of fine craftsmen can be found - forging tools from iron to working intricate jewelry from silver and gold to baking the sour breads favored by Kharl's children. And, of course, there in the Khadric Corner, visitors can find the finest meads and ales south of the Rheuthengage Mountains.
