Ring of Heroes
These eight statues - all of different men and women in various heroic poses - appeared mysteriously on Darknight in 738 AC. Cast in bronze, they are exceedingly lifelike and scaled exactly as a Human or, in the case of those mounted, a person on a horse. While they have weathered over the years to pick up a slightly greenish tinge, wind and rain has yet to blemish them and the sole act of vandalism against the statuses - a drunk using one as a tree - resulted in an immediate Judgement of expulsion from the city.
While next to nothing is known about the statues, locals have given each a name, calling the lot of them the "Ring of Heroes":
Radial | "Name" | Description |
---|---|---|
Northwest | The Lost Knight | A knight dressed in Eldorian, strangely facing to the side of the street. |
North | The Peacock | A warrior dressed in Galencian armor, his massive sword pointed downward and an arced plume on his head. |
Northeast | Maiden of the Spear | A woman warrior wearing robes and holding a spear, which shield resting on the ground to her left. |
East | Mud Gate Sentinel | An armored Galencian warrior standing at attention, staring down the radial at the Mud Gate. |
Southeast | The Tired Knight | A knight dressed in Eldorian, somewhat slouching in the saddle. |
South | The Sinister Woman | A woman warrior wearing robes and holding a spear in her left hand and a shield in her right. |
Southwest | The Sorceress | A robed woman bearing a staff in her left hand. |
West | The Prideful Priestess | A robed woman bearing a staff in her right hand. Her left hand sits haughtily on her hip. |
