Hall of the Unshrouded Flame
Built around a single flame of iridescent white that burns - smokeless and without fuel - the Hall of the Unshrouded Flame is an oft marginalized scion of Anderi's faith. In the late seventh century, a decades after the founding of Pendril, missionaries from the Holy Legion of Light left Warwick, intent upon spreading Light where there was Darkness. At that time - and perhaps still today - no place on Tarien held more Darkness for humans that the chaos of Sarnyan. Amongst those missionaries was the young acolyte, Rama Shadowsbane.
Disillusioned with the Legion's methods, she spoke out and was exiled for her efforts. Saved by a miraculous flame from the Lord of Light, she arrived in Pendril, proselytizing that Anderi's compassion should be granted to all regardless of their faith. Through the churches exemplar, she argued, it would expand. Armed with fire that warmed but did not burn, she converted several local church leaders to her ideals. Over the next three decades they worked tirelessly to build a cathedral of limestone, intricately carved with symbols of the Lord of Light, in northern Pendril. Filled with stain glass and centered around the flame itself, the temple stands today as a symbol of one of Anderi's most welcoming sects.
