Penny

The Penny is the third smallest denomination in the Doric Currency structure. The coin is comprised of pure Silver, resulting in a great sheen to its surface, especially the newly minted coins. The Penny was once a silver alloy coin, however, the shifting prices of silver had led to its re-minting in its current composition. The coin is of quite a large size, allowing for more elaborate imagery to be portrayed on each of its faces. The Penny displayed was minted under Grand Duke Urho II, his image on the obverse with the hand of Nuro, his guardian god, behind him. Also notable on the obverse side is the location that the coin was minted, Pilkala. On the reverse side of the coin, imagery of The Lords Tower is seen set on a background of the Ilkitala sun, as well as the year of minting.
