Nuro

Nuro is a prominent god within The Hallowed Faith, he is the son of Jala who is of the Alkutari, the first generation of gods born from the first god, Tuono. Nuro is well known as the god of war and is worshipped not only by those of military valour but of those wishing their kingdom to remain safe and their soldiers firm in battle. Nuro famously fought the great demon Dartavoss and was defeated, his hand severed in the battle where none of his blows seemed to affect the beast, passing through it like mist. It was after his defeat that the gods chose a champion from humankind, Valtuutettu, to slay the demon, Nuro having been sceptical of the ability of the champion to slay the demon.   Nuro's battle with the demon Dartavoss was not, as his personality might suggest, simply a matter of pride. Rather, this conflict came about by the demons search for the heart of Tuono. Tuono's heart was thought to be the source of ultimate power, and its location, while many believed it to be under the ocean and guarded by Autas, was still unknown for certain. It would be Tuono himself that contacted Nuro from his ethereal realm guiding his grandson into conflict against the great serpent demon who had been in continual search for the heart. In his brief consultations with the ethereal god, Nuro would be given many warnings of the great sacrifice ahead, being told prior to the great loss of his hand that he would suffer to enshrine the safety of the secret of the heart.   Nuro takes great interest in the business of men, often drawing them closer to battle where he enjoys settling disagreements with other gods through the battle of their prospective favourite acolytes. Though now relieved of his hand, Nuro is still unquestionably the most skilled combatant of the gods, despite this, he is very self-conscious of his mutilation and attempts to compensate through his manipulation of man.
