Kingdom of Volnia

The Kingdom of Volnia lies to the south and south-east of the Central Kingdoms, taking up its place in the dessert and drylands south of the Sarranid and Palantar mountain range, their main cities lying upon the rivers that flow from these ranges while the influence of the kingdom stretches down through the thick jungles of the Murathi Archipelago where there are sparse settlements and trader outposts.
Volnia consists largely of densely populated cities surrounded by vast swathes of inhospitable desert, leading to a heavily centralised society where a remarkable level of infrastructure and amenities being present within the primary settlements. The close proximity of such settlements to the Ochar Sea and Blood Ocean has allowed for the Volnic Kingdom to expand its reach overseas, controlling much of the undeveloped land of the Murathi Archipelago where the jungle dominates and the native populace go largely undisturbed by the outside world. Trade between Volnia, Breuic and the Central Kingdoms is largely facilitated through maritime trade, of which Volnia is a major power, controlling a primary trade route through to the eastern coast of the Runic Empire and the Darosti Sea.
