Ilkitala Dynasty
The Ilkitala Dynasty is a group of noble families who predominantly reside and originate from the Dorian region of the Central Kingdoms. The dynasty claims its routes are extended from the old Caenan King Tala, who was an ancestor of King Altti "the Silver King", and who ruled in the 52nd century. The Ilkitala dynasty now comprises of three branches; the main Ilkitala branch, the Miajalan cadet branch and the Torajoki cadet branch.
As of modern times, the wider dynasty holds significant positions of power, especially in the lands of Doria. Both positions of Grand Duke of Canyndor and Duke of the Dales are held by members of the dynasty, the former by Grand Duke Armas I of the house of Torajoki, the latter by Duke Urho of the Dales who is of the house of Ilkitala. Grand Duke Armas' position is notable as it is the first instance of a member of the house of Torajoki holding the title, indeed, the first time a member of the house of Torajoki has outranked members of the other houses.
Historically, there has been much turmoil within the Ilkitala dynasty, especially between the two primary houses of Ilkitala and Maijalan, a civil war which had broken out between the two houses vying for the title of Grand Duke known as the Succession of the Suns caused lasting rifts between members of the houses.
