Doric

The Doric people are largely contained within south-eastern valleys of the greater Brynic valley, being the majority population of both the Grand Duchy of Canyndor and the Duchy of the Dales. Doric people are generally the darkest skinned native inhabitants of the Greater Brynic valley, generally, of a tanned, olive coloured skin and fair brown to black hair, though many Doric people (the nobility especially) have fairer complexions and blonde hair largely due to economic status and genetic traits passed down from the time of the Era of Migration. The Doric culturally value traits such as loyalty and bravery, practising hospitality and trust of strangers.

Common Etiquette rules

The Doric people are fond of hierarchy and politeness during interactions, lowborns interacting with the nobility are expected to bow and to be very formal and polite, though the favour may not be returned. Amongst themselves, the Doric will greet each other often with traditional greetings, "Tahnni" being a traditional lowborn greeting and more informal while "Tarusta" is favoured amongst the nobility, military and those from a particularly strong Ardic bloodline. Hats, which it is considered proper for people (especially nobles and the wealthy) to be worn when travelling or moving within urban areas, are often tipped as another sign of greeting and friendliness with others.
