The Máirtín Royal Family
Overview
The Máirtín Royal Family is the second royal family of Éirigh, having taken control by force during The First Great Dynastic Shift. They are the cruelest leaders the kingdom has ever seen, trusted by few, and trust even fewer. Not only did the beginning of their reign disrupt generations of peace, but it has lead to the rise of The New Order, and the kingdom will see much more bloodshed before their reign comes to an end.
The most notable members of The Máirtín Royal Family are King Máirtín I and King Máirtín II, the latter of which is rumored to be a bastard born by none other than Lady Trua Sadach.
Structure
The King sits at the head. The Queen, Crown Prince, and any other members of the family are expected to follow his lead, and typically play little part in leading the kingdom unless something happens to him. This shift occurred with The First Great Dynastic Shift, as the Queen and Royal Family traditionally took a much more active role in governance.
Culture
The Máirtín Royal Family is broadly referred to as traitors, or the Traitor King, due to how they took power in The First Great Dynastic Shift. They are a secretive and ruthless family, that often suffers from paranoia. The kingdom doesn't trust them, both because of the manner in which they received the crown and because they are so closed off and separated from their people.
Public Agenda
The public really has no idea. You could honestly say that even the Captain has little idea what the Máirtín family agenda is, besides keeping their throne at any cost.
Assets
History
King Máirtín I took power in the year 1475, following the events of The First Great Dynastic Shift. In the year 1492, he died of a mysterious illness, and the throne was passed on to King Máirtín II.
Military
The Royal Guard and The Royal Navy serve the Royal Family, and every Laird's Order can be commanded to join the King in any military or security action.
