Session 2 - Change
General Summary
Skinny and Augustus Grimm head to The Wreck for the Captain’s meeting. Skinny spends some time wandering around, where he gambles away the 10 gold he’s given, and speaks with Port. Port talks to Pitch and learns what’s going on, while Skinny overhears the name “Tinheart”. When Skinny goes back downstairs he finds Captain Grimm speaking with an imposing Servo, who turns out to be Tinheart himself.
Captain Grimm explains that Tinheart has bought Skinny, and is now the one who owns him. Tinheart respectfully offers his hand to Skinny, who is unsure how to react to all of this. Captain Grimm snaps at Skinny when he insists on staying, and the Captain ends up storming off. Tinheart tells Skinny to forget everything the Captain taught him, and to think about being his own person.
Tinheart leads Skinny to a large convoy on the edge of Mainfair. Skinny is placed in a carriage with 3 other Servos, and the convoy prepares to leave. Immediately, one of the Servos introduces herself as Cookie, and gleefully greets Skinny. She is shown to be a bit of an airhead, and very excitable. One of the other Servos, Beartrap, talks about how he will lead the rest of them and eventually take over as head of the Red Fangs, which is Tinheart’s crew. The final Servo is Fisher, who lacks a mouth entirely, and thus cannot speak.
Thus, Skinny rides off with these new people, away from his former home and onto a new life.
Hamilton Caldwell wakes up in his tent with a splitting headache. He sees some food and water by his bedside, and Alice Roldwin asleep in a chair nearby. He decides not to disturb her, and instead exits the tent. Ryka confronts Hamilton, asking him how he feels and explaining what happened. He also tells him that Walter Stanton wants to speak with him.
When seeing Walter, Hamilton is ushered out into the woods with him. Walter apologizes to Hamilton while they walk, and hands the medallion over to him. Before he can continue, however, a bear pops out of the brush and attacks the two of them. Near the end of the battle, Walter decides to shoot Hamilton in the gut, killing the bear in the process. Hamilton falls to the ground, quickly losing consciousness.
Walter stands over Hamilton and apologizes for doing what he did, then runs off. Just before Hamilton passes out, he sees Marcus Hawthorne emerge from the trees and pick him up. Then, everything goes black.
Sasha Densharr and Eleanor have been continuing on their path for about 20 minutes, and Eleanor hasn’t said a word. When Sasha eventually confronts Eleanor, she confesses to worrying that Sasha may be like the bandits they met earlier. She fears that Sasha might betray her. Sasha gets offended by being compared to lowly bandits, and Eleanor apologizes.
Sasha mentions parting ways with Eleanor before they arrive at the next settlement, but Eleanor reveals they are already there. The two arrive at Riverbend, a small settlement built along a winding river. Eleanor attempts to park her carriage, but the stablehand is upset with having a Zso in town. Sasha confronts the man and intimidates him into letting them stay for the day.
Eleanor heads into a HansPuckett to purchase some additional supplies, while Sasha meanders around. She witnesses three men kick a small, old man out of a bar and beat him senseless. She rushes in and accidentally tears apart one man’s nose. She intimidates and convinces the other men to leave, but they tell her she’d better be gone in the next hour.
Sasha relays this information to Eleanor, who is disappointed in Sasha for getting into so many fights. She accepts the situation, and loads up her carriage. She reveals to Sasha that she is planning to go to Remington Kingdom next. Sasha is, of course, displeased with this, but decides to stay with Eleanor, at least until they arrive at the gates.
The two ride off to continue their journey, but they are quickly interrupted by two men stumbling out of the woods, one looking severely wounded. Eleanor is suspicious of this, considering the last confrontation they had, and Sasha goes out to investigate.
The two men, as it turns out, are none other than Hamilton Caldwell and Marcus Hawthorne!
