Mainfair
A graveyard for broken ships and broken dreams
As is with many settlements in Nevurdul, Mainfair draws people in from all walks of life for what it can offer. In this coastal town's case, that offer is fame, glory, and riches. Despite its rough-around-the-edges appearance, Mainfair has arguably the greatest opportunity for the simple man to make it big. Whether its the pirates plundering for gold, the gamblers trying to win big at the casino, or the peddlers along the Market Strip seeling whatever they can get their hands on, there's always a chance at coming out on top. But as is always the case, the greater the reward, the greater the risk.Architecture
The majority of Mainfair exists on a vast boardwalk. Built over the course of many years, it extends far past the shore and over the water, where countless homes have been built along it. These homes are almost entirely made of wood, with many being cobbled together with scraps of broken ships washed ashore. Due to their location, all of these homes, and the dock itself, are waterlogged and rotting.
Even though Mainfair appears poorly-constructed when looking at the homes, the structure of the town itself is actually simple to follow. Pathways are unobstructed, with homes being built close to one another to make navigating the town extremely easy. There are plenty of interconnecting paths, which allow citizens to head straight to the shipyard, or slip into a number of side streets.
Additionally, in the center of town stands what is likely one of the most impressive structures in Mainfair: The lighthouse. A tall, stone tower with an ever-burning Flame Kindred caged atop it. Since there are no torch sconces or magical lights in Mainfair, the glow from the lighthouse provides the best lighting for all of Mainfair, bathing it in a subtle, orange glow during the night.
