Session 77 - Ante Up

General Summary

Finn and Hamilton were alerted by the commotion coming from Sasha's room. They burst in to find Sasha kneeling over her unconscious brother, Dimo. The party helped get the young Ka-Tar onto the bed. Finn went to check the rest of the house, while Hamilton stuck around, just in case.
Sasha searched Dimo’s body and found he had a poisoned shortsword, a light crossbow, and a booklet that logged the schedules of various homeowners, Port included.
When Dimo finally woke up, he instantly tried to escape, but Sasha kept him from going anywhere. It was only at that point that Dimo recognized his sister. Dimo explained that he had been living in Mainfair for years, and he was just doing what he had to in order to get by. Sasha told her brother about Osho and Liberty Castle, but Dimo didn’t seem to care about the Densharr tribe at all anymore. In the end, despite her best efforts, Sasha relented and let Dimo escape into the night with his belongings.
The next morning, Finn talked to Port while she made breakfast. He told her everything, but most of it didn’t come as a shock to her. She told Finn that Dimo had come around to her house several times in the past. Port was surprised to hear that Sasha and Dimo were siblings, though.
Sasha, Hamilton, and Eleanor all came down and joined the others for breakfast. Port told Sasha she knew that Dimo spends a lot of time in the Market Strip, in case she ever needs to find him. Shortly thereafter, Port and Grant left for the Wreck. It was time for the Misfits to get to work.
Leaving Eleanor behind to watch over the house, the party chose to hitch a ride with the Ravagers to the Lucky Crown. Sasha demonstrated her magical abilities to the captain of the vessel, Bones, who was impressed. However, he and the rest of the crew were hesitant to allow a Servo onboard.
After Finn showed the capability of being independent and free-thinking, Bones was curious and invited them all onboard. The trip out to the Lucky Crown took about a day. During that time, the Ravagers pulled out school desks and eagerly “interrogated” the party.
Upon arriving at their destination, the party was met with a towering structure made of wood and stone, with a large, metal crown atop it. Droves of people poured in and out of the building, some cheering for their good fortune, and others cursing their rotten luck.
Forecastle greeted the party when they got in, but acted as if he didn’t know Finn at all. They saw Jinskarr on the VIP balcony with his Finkin, who watched the situation. Forecastle quickly cut off the conversation and moved on.
Sasha and Finn decided to try their luck at a game! They sat down with Jinskarr’s Sunborn crewmate, and played a game of cards with him. In the end, the Sunborn, who they learned was named Shen, won the game. However, he returned the gold Finn had lost. Finn tried to talk to Shen, but all he could get out of him was that he wound up in Nevurdul due to “tragedy”, and gave off an air of discontent at his circumstances. He walked off shortly thereafter.
Meanwhile, Hamilton approached the VIP section and, after paying a fee and having to deposit his weapons, went upstairs to look around. He discovered a strange hatch on the ceiling of the room, but before he could examine further, Jinskarr called him over.
Jinskarr invited Hamilton to sit down and partake in a game. The Finkin, named Hugo, got up and gave Hamilton his seat, but stood directly behind him, blocking him in.
With that, Hamilton found himself in a match of wits against Mainfair’s greatest enemy. Will he raise the stakes, or will he fold under the pressure?
