Session 83 - Fixed Odds

General Summary

In the aftermath of the battle, Captain Grimm reunited with his crew, and quickly tried to retake the role of Captain. He had the crew prepare some fires and take care of the bodies. He sent Sasha and Hamilton to check the perimeter, but Hamilton chose to stay to back up Finn, who approached the Captain in a fit of rage.

Finn proclaimed he was the Captain of the Reapers for the time being. Hamilton backed Finn up, and after Grimm shouted some harsh words, he stormed off into the ship.

Meanwhile, Sasha went back to the hut to find Dimo. She found him cowering behind the structure, weapon drawn. When he saw it was Sasha, Dimo broke down, thinking that everyone had died in the battle. The two shared a hug, and enjoyed the moment of stillness.

The rest of the night was quiet. The crew tended to their wounds and got some much-needed rest for their journey to Bone Rock the following day.

The next morning, Sasha, Hamilton, Finn, and Eleanor devised a plan to get rid of the Revolt. They took the barrels down to Captain Grimm’s cave and tossed them into the underground river, one by one.

After that, they set sail for Bone Rock! Over the three-day journey, Finn continued to argue with Captain Grimm. Eleanor continued to avoid talking to Sasha. Shen explained the plan he had for dealing with Jinskarr:

The entire crew will pretend they were captured by Shen. Some of the Reapers will dress as Jinskarr’s men. When the party is brought to Jinskarr, Sasha and Hamilton will find an opportunity to sneak away and find Port. While Finn and the others stall Jinskarr, Sasha and Hamilton will get Port to the ship, then signal the others. From there, they finish off Jinskarr and escape Bone Rock.

With a plan in place, Finn left to update the rest of the crew. Captain Grimm tried to take charge again, leading to another altercation. This one was cut short, however, when Grimm collapsed suddenly.

Doctor Oz looked Grimm over, and with Grant's help, informed the party of the grave news: Captain Grimm was suffering from an infection due to the wound he sustained from Jinskarr. This infection had been largely untreated for weeks on end, and Doctor Oz confessed that it would only be a matter of days before Grimm died.

In an effort to find help for his Captain, Finn used the Order's stone to call upon them. He found himself falling in a white void for a moment, until he landed on the bench in the clearing, with Johan sat beside him.

Finn pleaded with Johan for help. After seeing what the Order had done for Hamilton, he hoped they could do the same for Grimm. Johan admitted, however, that the circumstances for Hamilton were unique. He also admitted he’s known about Revolt, and he believes the one behind it all was a former member of their people. After Johan sent his condolences, Finn found himself back on the ship suddenly. He told Sasha and Hamilton about what he’d learned.

The night before their morning arrival, the Misfits sat along the edge of the ship and enjoyed some desserts. The four of them enjoyed one last night of peace, before whatever came next...
