Session 85 - Cash Out

General Summary

Sasha, Hamilton, and Dimo faced the impending arrival of Hugo! Ficc and Facc fought, while Foocc encouraged the party to escape through the tunnels. Hamilton grabbed Port and they fled.

As they traveled through the tunnels, Sasha found their weapons. She geared herself up, and brought Hamilton his musket. They ran down the narrow tunnels, and found that the floor was made of wooden planks, with water flowing underneath. They heard Hugo behind them, getting closer with every moment.

Meanwhile, Finn  and Captain Grimm talked as they prepared their shots. Finn tried to reason with Grimm, and acknowledged Jinskarr as correct in his thought process. But, Grimm didn’t seem to have any of it, and insisted Finn make his choice. The two of them aimed their weapons at one another, and fired…

The others continued through the tunnels. Hugo tore through the wooden floor several times to attack the party, but most of his hits failed to land. Sasha and Hamilton teamed up to deal blow after blow to Hugo, until Hamilton finally finished him off with a shot to the chest.

While that happened, Grimm and Finn saw that neither of them took the chance to fire at one another. Finn collapsed into Grimm’s arms, but Jinskarr cut the moment short when he fired a shot at the ceiling, sending cracks down the massive skull and dripping the marrow into the chamber. Finn shot at Jinskarr, which heavily wounded him, but he was able to escape through a hidden chute. As he fled, he threw out a handful of Revolt, which Atticus consumed before anyone else could.

Captain Grimm immediately went after Jinskarr. Shen and the others grabbed their weapons and encouraged Finn to go after the Captain, to which he obliged.

As Sasha and Hamilton recovered from Hugo’s attack, Jinskarr suddenly ran by, followed by Finn and Captain Grimm. Together, they all chased after Jinskarr into a final, hidden chamber.

The battle was bloody, and saw Finn nearly collapse. But together, the Misfits took out every last one of Jinskarr’s maneuvers. Sasha and Hamilton went on ahead to escape, while Finn finished Jinskarr off by dumping him in the pool of dragon bone marrow below.

As Finn began to run from the collapsing skull, Captain Grimm said he was staying. He told Finn he would just slow him down, and that he wanted to go out as the hearty captain he was known for being, rather than a slow, quiet death from the infection. Tearfully, Finn accepted. They exchanged a hug, and Grimm gave Finn a letter and his black cowboy hat.

The Misfits ran toward the ship, and were just barely able to climb aboard and sail away as the skull collapsed in on itself. They had won. They traveled back to Mainfair, where the entire crew went to Port’s house to celebrate their victory.

Hamilton finally talked to Port about her being a Cepharrian, but she seemed to have no knowledge of them. She admitted she had questions about herself, and they agreed to pool their knowledge and see what they could uncover.

Sasha and Eleanor spoke on the balcony. Eleanor opened up to Sasha about her past. She told her how she was with a group of Zso who would go around healing their kind, but they were all dead and gone now. The situation became more tense as the two of them got closer. Both red-faced, they cut the situation short and went back inside…

Finally, Finn read the letter from Grimm. It was a heartfelt goodbye from the Captain. Finn raised a glass with the crew in honor of the him, afterwards.

Later that night, Finn found a strange discovery: his original arm was hanging outside the window, in better condition than he originally had it! He accepted it happily and put it where it rightfully belonged.

Shen decided to head to the City of Steel to lend a hand to the Baron Skudhauser, and would decide whether to stay in Nevurdul, or go home when the Apex was rebuilt.

The following morning, the Misfits gathered in their carriage and said goodbye to everyone. But Dimo came running out and insisted he come along, too. And so, the five of them left Mainfair at last, and made their way back to Remington Kingdom.

• Gold: Each of the Misfits earned 300 gold, from the combination of loot they gathered and donations from grateful Mainfair citizens.
