William Skudhauser

William Skudhauser was a baron from the Mainland, and an avid explorer. Coming to Nevurdul on the Apex in an effort to learn more about it, his ship crashed down. He and his crew had been working to fix it for quite some time, preparing to leave the dreaded "Black Isle" behind as soon as possible.

Appearance

Skudhauser was a short Human male. He had wispy, gray hair with a large bald spot atop his head. He had a thick mustache and even thicker eyebrows. Despite his short stature, he had broad shoulders and strong arms. He always wore military-like clothing, most notably his long, black militia boots.

Personality

Skudhauser was a strict, yet friendly person. He was able to take the command of a large fleet, while sociable enough to get in the good graces of the natives of Nevurdul. Despite his seemingly-friendly demeanor, he seemed to only be motivated by self-interest, as his reasoning for bringing Hamilton Caldwell back home was not for his safety, but rather for the fame obtained from the act.

Background

Skudhauser's history was mostly a mystery. At some point, he founded Skudhauser Air, an airship manufacturing company. This rocketed him into financial success, allowing him to create the Apex and sail off to Nevurdul in search of greater challenges.

Fate

• Stabbed by Delilah Caldwell

After invading Remington Kingdom with the use of the Apex, the Baron was confronted by Hamilton and Delilah. They engaged in battle, and after sustaining multiple bullet wounds from Hamilton, the Baron was stabbed in the gut by Delilah. She pulled the blade from his body, and let him sink to the floor, bleeding to death.

Relationships

• Hamilton Caldwell: Skudhauser, on the surface, seemed to enjoy Hamilton's company. However, it was clear, in his final moments, that he only cared about his own reputation for bringing back a member of the Merto Archeaology Dispatch alive.
• Oscar Caldwell: Skudhauser seemed to know Oscar well, having spent years in college alongside him.
